Illustration

I try to use many illustration techniques in my designs and many design techniques in my illustrations. Either way, I always begin with a hand-drawn foundation. My wish is that this approach will give the work original character and add personality and general funkiness.

Funky Two Kilos Podcast Illustration:

Every month I do a new illustration for DJ Floskel's podcast, Funky Two Kilos. Each new mix focuses on different aspect of funky music produced after the year 2000. Have a listen: (funkytwokilos.com)

Swiss Rap Compilation:

This album art is the result of a collaboration with my old friend and graffiti style king Serval. It is mostly a fun experiment in combining graffiti pencil sketches with paper sculpture and multi-layered texturing. Check out his website, silverblack.ch, for more of Serval's graffiti and illustrations.

London Transport Museum – Creative Kids Brochure:

I designed and illustrated this booklet for the Creative Kids Engineering Academy at the London Transport Museum. Over the summer holidays, children come to the museum for fun activities involving engineering. At the completion of each day, the kids receive a golden sticker to add to their booklet. The idea of collecting all 5 stickers is incentive for them to keep coming back to the museum. For more about this and other programs visit the London Transport Museum website.

Chronicle of Sound Album Art:

It was a pleasure and honor to do some work for my old school, Drexel University. The album is a compilation of student work from the MAD Music Industry Program. I was also relieved to use a 100% biodegradable potato tray to mount the disc. Thanks to the program leader Ryan Schwabe for choosing this green option.

Stoke-on-Trent Youth Activities Brochure:

This job was a lucky combination of illustration and design. Stoke-on-Trent has done an incredible job updating their youth services lately, and this brochure is meant to spread awareness to youths looking for positive activities in their local community. Check it out: (uth.stoke.gov.uk)
